VAGINAL ADHERENCE OF ECOVAG®
PROBIOTIC STRAINS
It is commonly understood and supported by leading experts that probiotic bacteria must be able to adhere and colonise to human intestinal or vaginal cells in order to potentially confer a health benefit to the host.
In line with this, it is of great importance that probiotic strains applied to provide benefits to the vaginal flora, are able to adhere in significant numbers to vaginal epithelial cells (VEC).
Applying some of the most advanced in-vitro methods and technologies available, the EcoVag® probiotic strains have demonstrated superior adherence to VEC compared to several other commercially known probiotic strains. Figure 1.
Vaginal colonisation of the EcoVag® probiotic strains have further been substantiated in vivo.
